50% off Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award bookings

With so many ways for the savvy traveller to earn frequent flyer points these days, it also pays to be on the lookout for the best ways to use them.

Singapore Airlines is running one such deal for the next two weeks, with 50% off the usual amount of KrisFlyer points needed to book a business class or economy class flight between Sydney and Singapore.

That means you can swap Circular Quay for Boat Quay for as little as 27,500 KrisFlyer points (return) for a basic Saver ticket in economy, or 90,000 for business class return.

If you're loaded up with points to burn you can also book discounted award tickets from Singapore to London, Zurich and a clutch of other destinations.

Of course, there are some special conditions and caveats:

• the 50% discount only applies to redemption bookings made online between 26 September and 9 October 2011
• tickets must be for travel between 1 October to 30 November 2011, with all travel completed by 30 November 2011
• only certain flights are eligible: for example, you can fly out of Sydney only on SQ222 on business class, and only on SQ242 in economy class (and your return flights must be the matching SQ222 and SQ241 flights, respectively)
• the 50% discount promotion applies only to Saver, Standard and Full award redemption tickets, and only Standard and Full award tickets for business class flights on an A380 (which includes SQ222)
