There's now an appealing lounge option for Qantas passengers flying out of Dallas/Fort Worth on QF8, with the opening of DFW's newest American Express Centurion Lounge.
Located at Terminal D – the same as used by the Qantas flights – near gate D12, the new AMEX Centurion Lounge is larger than DFW's original Centurion Lounge, which should help reduce the crowd factor during peak times.
The new lounge looks great and adds several new traveller-friendly features including three shower suites, private telephone rooms, and even a mother's room.
That comes on top of the old lounge's appealing and familiar Centurion benefits such as a tended bar with specialty cocktails and seasonal wine flights; fresh, locally-inspired cuisine; dedicated work areas and a 'conference space'; a family room; and complimentary spa therapies from Exhale.
Additional American Express Centurion Lounges are due to open in 2019 at LAX – which will boast a day spa – and New York's JFK Airport, which will be split across two levels of T4 with a footprint of almost 1,400m² and will feature extensive airfield views through two decks of floor-to-ceiling windows.
Like its siblings in the USA and Hong Kong, entry to the DFW Centurion Lounge is restricted to holders of an American Express Platinum Charge Card, Business Platinum Card or Corporate Platinum Card issued directly by AMEX in any country, including Australia, or those with the black invitation-only American Express Centurion Card or Business Centurion Card.
This does not include any other Platinum-grade American Express cards issued through airlines (such as the Qantas Ultimate AMEX, AMEX Explorer and Platinum Edges cards) or banks (such as Westpac Altitude Platinum or Black AMEX, for example).
