Poynt is an exceedingly useful app for finding nearby businesses. Its huge database covers businesses, retailers, people, restaurants, movie times and cinema locations, events and weather info around you.
User reviews and ratings are available for all the places, and you can add yours via the app too.
The movie time search is particularly good -- it covers showtimes for cinemas nearby to your current location, and allows you to watch movie trailers in the app while you're deciding on a movie.
You can also add addresses of places you like to your BlackBerry address book, and schedule events in your BlackBerry calendar based on the Poynt info. You can also send information on places to your BlackBerry-toting friends via BlackBerry Messenger.
Some of its most handy functionality is restricted to the US, such as booking restaurant tables and buying movie tickets – so it's a must-load app before making your next trip to the US.
