If you live in or travel to Melbourne, Silver Top Taxi's BlackBerry app is the clever way to book a taxi without waiting on the phone queue or standing in line at a taxi rank.
You can store favourite addresses for pickup/destination so you don't have to enter them in repeatedly, and once bookings are made you can check on the status of the booking without having to ring up.
Each booking comes with a reference number in case you need to call up for some reason (or fight someone off who is trying to scalp your cab).
The app also lets you book standard, 'silver service' or wheelchair-accessible taxis.
