Looking to book a quick holiday to Turkey (Istanbul Ataturk). I am QF FF and want to book via Oneworld airline(s) however not via LHR/Europe. Therefore preferably out of an Asian port direct to Turkey. Any suggestions?

A fun question!  Can you hold out for Qantas and Malaysia Airlines partnership to be cemented (should happen before OW)?  Otherwise, you are looking at a tricky connection with Cathay Pacific Australia-HKG, then Royal Jordanian-BKK-AMM-IST.

I missed that QF fly to SYD-BKK, but you still need to stop in Amman.

The only OW carrier flying to Turky from this side of the world is RJ...

SYD-BKK-AMM-IST seems like the easist routing to take... The other option is to get most of the way there on OW then book the last hop into IST on TK (or another carrier). If you can get somewhere like Athens or Cairo then you should be within 1-2 hours flight of IST. Of course, you might as well just use the RJ flight through AMM...
