Don't think it really matters as you will have to connect through another airport from LAX.
Delta - Altlana
United - Houston
American - Dallas
US Airways - Denver or Charlotte
Probably be better to fly Qantas to DFW and connect through there.

If you ask me, all the US based carriers are terrible. But out of them all I would go with Delta
