Forgot to pop the question details above. I'm looking at flights with Air France to Paris in June from Brisbane. I've mixed reviews on the service on the China Southern Leg. China Southern is on their Airbus A330's and Air France on the Boeing 777-200er. I've never flown with either airline so what are opinons of the service, food and the product. Unfortanetly it'll be in economy. I'm wondering whether to get these flights or stump up several hundred dollars more and fly Qantas/Emirates. Thanks Guys :D

Well air france us 10 abrest 777 configuration so its not the best and the China southern width is on 0.2 iches wider so i dont recomend either if Skyteam is a preferance have you looked at korean they have good seats and I think it is a bit easier to get an upgrade from I was upgraded from Y to B on a flight from Brisbane to Seoul last year.

Seat pitch, seat width, recline and toilets. The four horsemen of economy travel. On a dollars for comfort calculation you cannot beat Emirates. But NB. you have to be on EK a380. For example, their recline is nearly 50% better than QF a380 and they have more (and better) toilets. Pitch and width about the same. China Southern is cheaper, but not by much, and their economy seats don't stack up.

mbe1510,

Why are you not considering Singapore Airlines? As a bog standard Economy class passenger with no status I find they're the best and very price competitive as well.

You don't want to be trying your luck with the likes of Southern China and Air France. It's all very hit and miss.
