Are there plans to keep the viewing platform at PER open for the first A380?

I have a friend who is quite excited to see the first scheduled A380 land at Perth on May 1 (EK420). He's planning to view it from the outdoor viewing platform which officially closes at 17:30, but the flight is expected to arrive at 17:35. Has anyone heard if there are plans to leave it open on that particular day or will Mr. Jobsworth kick everyone out mere minutes before the event they have been waiting for? I'm also aware that at that time it will probably land on 21, so the platform at the threshold of 03 is not a good spot anyway, but with the T1 viewing gallery closed for renovations it's all we have at Perth.
