Has anyone taken out a credit card offering introductory bonus QFF points and $0 annual fee for the 1st year and then cancelled within the 1st year? Do you then get charged the annual fee? I see multiple major banks currently offering this. I am a few points short for a family trip to Europe and one of these type offers would get me over the line.

This can be done. Keep in mind that it takes around 4 months to get the points.

i have done this a few times, the first year is free, no matter if you cancel it or not. so no you dobt get charged.
On the promos running at the moment, im assuming it is the anz one? It took about 5 months to get the points issued to my qff account, however i also have jumped on the nab offer too which was much more prompt in getting me the points (less than a week after my first purchase using the card)

I did with Macquaire, then the "operator" offered to refund my annual fee - so I stayed for another 11 months.
ANZ one is offering the most points with $0 annual fee so that would make the mose sense I think. Thanks!

I've done it with a few cards. Amex and NAB both (in my experience) issue bonus points within the first billing statement whilst commonwealth and Westpac both have 90 day waiting periods. With ANZ the bonus points are issued with your 4th months billing statement.
Thanks for the responses!!
