Malaysia Airlines - Sydney.

I have been booted off my BNE - KUL - LHR flight and accommodated to SYD - KUL - LHR for September. Now searching on their site and you cant book anything from Sydney?

Also the agent is adament the SYD flight is leaving at 21:40, however MH website timetables say 20:40 departure time for MH0140. Not keen for a 6:20 layover in KL!

Could you not get MH to route you via MEL?

You could do the flight out of MEL that departs a few minutes after midnight.

Will they book you on a BNE/MEL service with QF?

BNE-KUL is, if I recall correctly, a "cancelled" route under MH's reorganisation.

Personally, I would agree with @TheRealBabushka and call MH to see if the MEL-KUL-LHR ruting is available to you.

Darwin maybe an option

It only has a 1 hour and 25 minute layover in KL

Are MH paying for you to get to Sydney to get the alternative?

MH are dealing with these things really badly. I had a MH flight later this year and it is now one of the "cancelled" destinations. No one actually told me that it had been cancelled but I found out when I received an email asking me if I want to upgrade on a flight that I wasn't booked on and is a roundabout way of getting to where I want to go. Reservations were no help at all and gave me no other alternatives to make the journey easier so I ended up cancelling the whole trip. They then told me that the refund will take 12 weeks to process which is just ridiculous. I really want to give MH a go since my previous experiences have been okay but now I won't even consider flying them again.

MH ought to give a FOC QF sector to mee twith a reaccomodated flight from MEL/SYD. At least that has been my expereince when dealing with clients bookings that have been affected by the cancelled BNE service. Your agent should be taking the lead on this hopefully and giving you options.

MH rerouted me recently out of FFT returning to ADL when they dropped their FFT -KUL flt. they emailed the new flights eg ex FFT to LHR on Lufhansa. I asked them [i went into the adl office] for a better connection to suit on BA and they just did it. All was FOC and all with a smile.

Im sure they will reroute you to suit your needs FOC if you let them know yr preferences

good luck

I have now tried calling MH twice, both times the call disconnects. Finally on the third time they refer me back to the agent. The agent says my only option is via Sydney which adds 5 hours to my original departure time. I have a business ticket and this is the worst service I have ever experienced...

MH DRW - KUL is a narrow 737.

Even if you have to pay extra for BNE - SYD and that long layover in KUL, its a once off.

Who knows what will happen to MH after Sept this year anyway.
