Hi Everyone, if classic upgrade on a Qantas flight is requested but not confirmed, should I still online check-in when it becomes available so that I still get to choose a Y seat? By doing so will that affect the chance of upgrade?

Upgrades are worked out by different department, so go ahead and select seat, and checkin, however if you havent heard confirmation of upgrade by 6hours before flight, its pretty grim chance of one happening, and lucky you if you do!

Appreciate this was asked a month ago but my experience was ...

I have silver status with QF so selected my seat at the time of booking. When I went to do my online check in I saw that my seat had moved and I had been upgraded.

Therefore if you go to do online check in and you haven't been upgraded then unlikely you will be upgraded.
