My QFF earn year ends at the end of this month and I'm 25 SC's from retaining Gold. Does anyone know if is there any chance QFF may let me retain Gold without earning the last 25SC's

Just book a cheap domestic return flight. Why risk it?

How many SC's did you do the previous year, if it was well over you should be fine.
Give them a call. I did a couple years back and QF confirmed beacuase of the average SC's earned I would retain the Gold status.

You may get comp'd... but this can't be promised.
If you value your gold status, book a domestic flight. That is the only way to know for sure.

Don't risk it. Gold is giving you QC access + international lounge access + higher points upgrade preference. That alone is worth spending a couple of hundred dollars paying for a domestic return flight.
