With a QF and EK agreement, does that mean QFF Platinum would have access to the EK first lounge? Is there any other perks to come from this for a Platinum status?

The following excert is from what I just received from Qantas.
"The Qantas and Emirates frequent flyer programs will be aligned, enabling members of either program to earn and spend points on both airlines. Customers will have their frequent flyer status recognised on either carrier."

Yes, we confirmed this with Alan Joyce and Ted Clark at this morning's press conference – you'll get access to the Emirates first class lounge, the same privileges as Skywards Gold (the current top tier) plus the same privileges as Qantas Platinum where those exceed Skywards Gold. Emirates will also be creating a new Skywards tier above Gold (Skywards Platinum, anyone?) to match QF Platinum.
