Maz you may find it easier to go a buy a AA 30 day lounge pass which will get you access to the QF Lounge in MEL for your self and one guest. It costs US$99 or ~AU$140 for the 30 day pass which allows you to access the QF Lounges and AA Lounges before a Qantas or American Airlines flight during that 30 day period.

I have an answer for you Maz:

Buy a Businss Class ticket or join Qantas Frequent Flyer and earn enough staus credits to obtain a tier that will give you loung access.

Sick and tired of the lounge being full of people who pay next to nothing for their air fares.

You mean like 90% of business travellers who's companies pay? :P Just remember, if it weren't you, it would be the person taking your place.
