Over the last few weeks we've seen a sharp increase in user comments that conflict with our published comment policy, which has been in place since 2014.
If you engage in our Q&A area or comment on AusBT articles, we'd appreciate you taking a moment to familiarise yourself with this succinct policy.
As a brief overview: we don't censor comments based solely on points of view, but we will delete comments that we consider to be off-topic and/or that add no value to the subject; as well as comments that are abusive, contain foul language or that are spam.
The policy serves to keep discussion objective and on-track and to keep AusBT a welcoming place for new visitors while still allowing all readers to have their say and engage in informed discussion, and by following these simple guidelines, you'll avoid having your posts deleted or edited by the AusBT admin team. :)

But why doesn't Qants fly everywhere from Perth?!?!?!?!?
Was the above unclear, RealKid?
Even in jest, the running and off-topic 'what about Perth' comments are old, have been done to death and we're tired of seeing it appear on articles that don't even concern Perth (let alone Q&A threads reminding users to remain on-topic, which should be clear enough).

This reminds me...I've missed the good 'ol rant from Richard!
It was Richard wasn't it? That person who flies QF First class but bitches about QF all the same.
What's happened to him???
If you mean Robert, he was banned for repeatedly ignoring warnings and failing to follow the rules of the site.

You can't even spell Qantas!!
When a tangent has already been flagged as off-topic, we'd appreciate users not continuing with that tangent – in any other thread it means more work for us in deleting all of the follow-on off-topic comments in order to get the discussion itself back on-topic.
(Eg. is the spelling of Qantas relevant to the topic, being in this case AusBT's comment policy? If the answer is no, it's off-topic.) :)

I feel for you, I only thought teenagers carried on this way.
Good Luck trying to keep them on topic.

I dunno Chris, the Perth thing is old, but it's gold. I consider it one of the quirky aspects of this site and rather enjoy hearing from the Perth boosters on a regular basis. Although they do rather hog the limelight. Where is the cheer squad for the other lesser cities - DRW, ADL, HBA etc ? Embrace AUSBT's eccentricities Chris, it makes the site more interesting

ADL doesn't need to boast since they got a QR A350 coming their way :p .
