I can give an update... was there last week and it was still agonisingly slow. The week before that was the same case as well

Hi JBH: when we hear it's been fixed we'll post a follow-up article.

@david/joshb - thanks both. my sense is that any 'fix' will now likely happen with the lounge upgrade due in Dec.

If it's just lacking in back-end bandwidth then that should be an easy fix, but if the issue is wireless coverage then yeah, it'll make sense for new (dual-band) routers to be installed as part of the make-over. One would also expect the lounge's needs for bandwidth will reduce dramaticaly in April once Qantas no longer has Singapore as a stop-over en route to London, as there'll be a lot less passengers in the lounges.

I'd put beer money on it being a back-end problem, and a bit more beer money on it being an issue that's tricky to work around, requiring airport involvement. The Qantas/BA, Cathay Skyview and that random unaffiliated lounge near QF/BA whose name I can never remember all have crummy Internet provision, which makes me think there's something stupid going on like it all coming through one of those Magic Internet Pipes the politicians keep telling us about.
And I don't think it's a "too many users in each lounge" bandwidth problem, David: remember that layover when I spent the entire day in the old Business Lounge? It was dire even before the Qantas evening rush, when there was just me there.

John, I don't think it's a "too many users" problem - I was just flagging that QF may need to rework any service provision anyway once the Lonon flights no longer stop at Singapore. Not really germane to the core issue, just a side observation...
