TGIF everyone!

I have a rather interesting question for all you travellers out there.

I have an upcoming Business/Leisure trip in the USA. Whilst I'm actually flying Air New Zealand this time around, my question relates SPECIFICALLY to QANTAS Hotels.

I will be in Chicago from 18th June - 27th June. I went to the QANTAS Hotels website and saw an amazing rate on an amazing hotel. I entered the dates of my stay and the total comes to $2676.

I looked all over the page to check that there are no additional fees, as this price (non-refundable) is EXTREMELY cheap, ($3700+ AUD) on booking.com for same room and similar price on hotel website.

I clicked on the price to book the room, and underneath the payment details there is an information tab/link that says "Please note, there is important information you need to know before you go" read more

When I click on the link, the following window pops up:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Know Before You Go

  • One child 12 years old or younger stays free when occupying the parent or guardian's room, using existing bedding.

Fees

The following fees and deposits are charged by the property at time of service, check-in, or check-out.

  • Breakfast fee: between USD 10 and USD 15 per person (approximately)
  • Valet parking fee: USD 53 per night (in/out privileges)

The above list may not be comprehensive. Fees and deposits may not include tax and are subject to change.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought that it seemed a bit off, as all I want to know is .......Is this price fully inclusive of all taxes, fees and surcharges? ($2676 AUD)

As the disclaimer left me wondering, I rang QANTAS Hotels on 1300 738 206 to ask if the price IS FULLY INCLUSIVE.

The customer service agent was very professional and polite and confirmed the price of the hotel for my chosen dates however, when I asked her if that was the total cost/fully inclusive she couldn't give me a straight answer. She said that because it is an international booking, there could be surcharges or other fees. She said that she would contact "the international team," whatever that is and get back to me. I assumed, since there was zero waiting time on the phone, that she was going to put me on hold for a few minutes and find out. I asked her how long this will take and she replied "approximately 24-48 hours, what is the best way of contacting you" yada yada yada.

As I require laundry facilities, which this hotel has, and on Booking.com there is 1 room left, plus not to mention on the hotel's actual website, it said there were no rooms available for my dates, I kinda would like to know this information quickly, if you all know what I mean.

That being said, is any member of this forum knowledgeable on QANTAS Hotels, OR has anyone had any experience with them?

I simply just want to know if the advertised price is ALL INCLUSIVE!

Any information, stories or experiences would be a great help.

Hopefully I don't have to wait 24-48 hours for a response :-)

Thanks everybody.

Hey there pleaseupgrademe,

Did you get a resolution to your query?

I've booked via Qantas hotels many times before, and not had to pay additional tax on arrival. I consider these prices "all inclusive", unless otherwise stated. (Obviously other additional fees can be expected, if you avail yourself of hotel services such as valet.)

That being said, I have travelled to certain places with supposedly "fully paid, all-inclusive" bookings from other websites (Agoda, AirBNB, etc.), only to arrive at the property to be told there is a local tourism tax payable.

YMMV, I suppose.

Happy travels!

TFIF again!

One week has passed and I have made the go ahead and booked my hotel in Chicago via Qantas Hotels.

I did find out that the price is all inclusive, however I found out something else,

Qf Hotels, uses a platform called Hooroo, who have had some negative comments online on onlineproductreviews.com.au.

Can anyone verify the validity of Qantas Hotels?
Do they have a good reputation
