I’m of the understanding that VA does not fly BNE-PER using their A330, but QF does?

If that is the case, do the A330 have the new business suite?

Yes QF does fly the a330 on BNE to PER flights. All flights that I have been on that use the a330-200 have had the new business suite. Be aware that some flights are operated by a 737

VA fly their A330 from Brisbane to Perth on Friday evenings and some weekend flights. QF fly their A330 once per day- the night departure Sunday to Friday and evening departure on Saturday. There is a small chance you would be on an unrefurbished A332 with QF.

25 of the 32 weekly QF departures are on a 737. Just be sure to check when booking and also soon before departure in case of equipment change.

That 330 can still be swapped to a 737 at any stage.

A long time ago, I was booked on a 330 from SYD - BNE, I was psyched up, happy as a fed pooch, mentally prepared to have the 2 seat by the window, was flying whY, I didn't mind if someone had the seat next to me.

Was a QF NR at that time, got to OLCI, and yep, it got swapped to a 737.

As there are no new 330s in QF'f fleet, and now that QF is flying the 330 between Au - NZ, more or less we have to expect that some of the journeys previously done by the 330, will be swapped to a 737.

Does QF website say anything more than A330 for me to able to identify the aircraft (ofcourse i understand they can change the aircraft at the last minute) and confirm if it has the new business suite before i go ahead with the booking? Is it priced differently compared to the 737 business class?

I’m actually planning on booking my flight from Perth to Brisbane return very soon myself. From the days I’ve checked, pricing is the same between 737 and A330 flights.

If you can’t see the seat map before you pay on QF, you can use Seat Alerts on Expertflyer. The 2 A332s with Skybed 1 have 36 Business Class seats in pairs.

Let's hope that VA actually do come up with better business class seats on their B737 for the East Coast- Perth flights as they hinted they would. If they did that it would make a huge difference although I would suspect the catering and beverage selection would be somewhat diminished! Having said all of this I would not want to be hanging by the B###s waiting for it to happen!!

There is a site called the QANTAS source, which has loads of info on Qantas aircraft. you can search there for the A330's that have been refurbished.

Booked to fly BNE to PER return some time ago tomorrow on the A330. Booked my seats as per the QF seat map on the A330. Checked last night, and found the flight originally listed as an A330,has been changed to a 737. So beware, even though a plane is listed to fly as an A330,it can be switched to a 737.
