Noticed this morning that Qantas is allowing free exit row seat selection on economy Domestic flights. Previously charging $20 to $40 per domestic leg.
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but it worked on a variety of accounts including Qantas Club Bronze account, a regular Bronze FF account and a Silver FF account. All accounts were previously being charged a fee.
I suspect a bug, the Qantas site seems to have had a lot of issues since the 'upgrade' the other week. I've had a couple of errors where it seems to think my status is higher than it actually is for certain functions.
The QANTASLINK thing must be more recent then. I suspect the free change thing at the moment is because there are issues all over the place with the website and various functions.

QantasLink does not charge for exit row seats. I think it depends on who is providing the QF service.

All the flights I selected were Qantas, BNE-SYD; MEL-BNE etc.

QantasLink do charge for exit row, but at a lower rate than Qantas mainline.

I've never paid extra for Qantaslink exit row seats. I flew in an exit row last month and I also wasn't charged for it.

I have recently booked HTI - SYD for September and paid $15 for an exit row seat. Same trip SYD - BNE was $20.

Yep, Qantas link do charge. Our company pay full fare Paraburdoo to Perth $640 and they still want another $10 for exit row
