Hi everyone, my daughter is travelling alone for the first time, we always fly J class and so she'll be J class on her own, she'll be fine I'm sure.... the only thing I can't remember in my pre-flight briefing (yes, I'm an anxious mum) is WHERE is the life jacket on a 737-800? ie the single aisle planes with 2 J class seats each side of the aisle (the old style seats). Thank you (and I'm sure she'd find them without me but just humour me for now).

If she pays attention during the safety instructions she'll find out for herself!

Off the top of my head, I believe the newer AVOD frames have the life jacket in the J seat legrest, while the older overhead IFE frames have it next to the legrest.

It's in the legrest for 737 Business. Tip: Qantas posts it's safety videos online. Google 'Qantas Safety Video 2018'. The lifejacket demo is at the 2min:18sec mark of the safety video. The flight attendant on board will also be happy to show you specifically where it is for your seat. Safe travels.

Hey Ryan that parents child may have a hearing or sight impairment, and they are just making sure.

If thats the case and its in her booking details or traveller profile then the child will find she gets a lot of attention from the Qantas cabin crew. I've sat beside vision impaired pax before and Qantas crew do a fantastic job briefing them and surrounding pax on what to do etc.

Ryan K's comment was mildly amusing!
