I have an upcoming reward trip booking travelling from Sydney to Sao Paulo via Dubai. My question is I will be travelling from Brisbane earlier in the day to get to Sydney with Qantas. When I arrive in Sydney what is the process? I will have to collect my bags then make my way own way to the international terminal and check in with Emirates? Or can Qantas link my booking together or this is not possible?
You'll most likely have to collect you bags and make your own way to the international terminal. Try your luck at check-in in Brisbane, but the rules are that Qantas will not check baggage through to flights on a separate reservation . If you didn't have check-in bags, you could use the free Qantas transfer bus given your arrival in Sydney on a Qantas flight.
