What are the chances for a points upgrade to come through on QF767 BNE-PER next thursday flight on the A330? I had placed this request almost a month ago and yet to see any movement. I'm QF Platinum.

Do the seats sell out or do qantas release all that is not sold for points upgrade 24-72 hrs prior to departure?

For that you'd want to look at the flight loads. Someone here may be able to look those up.

They may upgrade people, they may use seats for staff travel etc. It's at QF's discretion. QF would prefer to sell as many seats as they can.

For international upgrades are processed up to 48 hours out for Platinum (though in practice I've been upgraded earlier than that up to about 60 hours before the flight), but that's only if there's plenty of seats for upgrades. If there are few spare seats upgrades would get processed closer to the flight.

For domestic if at least as many classic reward seats in Business are available as the number of passengers on the booking then the upgrade should be approved instantly. If it's not approved but the classic reward seats are showing online then give QF a call to sort it out.

If there are no/insufficient classic reward seats in Business available then you'd be waitlisted and have to wait till closer to the flight to see how you've gone.

High chance. I believe they only give 5 days notice for plat, correct me if i'm wrong. Since is a a330, high chance of upgrade. I received an upgrade on the 787 MEL-PER as a bronze before it started flying to london with no issues.

There are still plenty (more than 9) business class seats for sale at the moment.

As everyone else has mentioned, you have a pretty good chance at this upgrade.

Hi :)

Did a quick ExpertFlyer check for you. There are still 11 unoccupied seats in J cabin, and there are 9 seats blocked because I'm a PS :( (1A and 2A are taken, everything else 1-3 is blocked for me).

Based on this, you're very likely to get the upgrade.

Happy travels :)

This came through yesterday evening via Text.

Hoping they won't change the aircraft on me :-)

For future readers interest I have always got an upgrade on this route in the A330 but the cabin does usually fill up by departure time to at least 3/4 full in my experience.
