Just wondering if Virgin are ever likely to introduce spirits in their domestic lounges? If not, why not?

No for 2 reason.

1. More alcohol = more $$. And no one wants more money spent on lounges than necessary to stay competitve.

2. Demand for spirits. I doubt there would be equal amounts of people drinking spirits and the available rose or red.

They did have a trial at one point in time. I guess they found it wasn't worthwhile.

VA lounge has a wider selection of beers and wines than QF club and I suspect this is because they do not serve spirits ($$ saved diverted to beer and wine) or have a separate business lounge (still need to keep business and ff passengers happy) Not being a spirit drinker I like the point of difference but can understand how this would be annoying for some.

Virgin has a very inferior offing compared to qantas.

Lack of spirits in their lounges is only one of the mild disadvantages with flying with virgin

VA: free Economy X for WPs, priority boarding that is actually enforced, generous fly ahead policy for WPs, better cabin crew, decent lounges with wide range of wines and beers. But, yeah, no spirits so definitely a very inferior offering compared to QF...

Not that spirits matters all that much anyway. Cocktails are one thing but vodka and a soda gun mixer always feel a bit nightclub like in the QF Clubs.
