VA lounge has a wider selection of beers and wines than QF club and I suspect this is because they do not serve spirits ($$ saved diverted to beer and wine) or have a separate business lounge (still need to keep business and ff passengers happy) Not being a spirit drinker I like the point of difference but can understand how this would be annoying for some.
VA: free Economy X for WPs, priority boarding that is actually enforced, generous fly ahead policy for WPs, better cabin crew, decent lounges with wide range of wines and beers. But, yeah, no spirits so definitely a very inferior offering compared to QF...

Not that spirits matters all that much anyway. Cocktails are one thing but vodka and a soda gun mixer always feel a bit nightclub like in the QF Clubs.
