Hi everyone, I was recently given a Platinum One lounge pass by a friend and was hoping to use it for the Melbourne First Class Lounge prior to QF9, Melbourne to Perth via the international terminal.

Unfortunately, the only option available is the domestic Qantas Club.

Has anyone tried this before successfully? I have contacted Qantas by SMS which didn't help so I will try calling them later on, but would appreciate any tips from the experts here in the meantime :)

Thanks for any help!

I believe the issue is that it technically is a domestic flight which means you should only be able to use it on the domestic Qantas Club or Business lounge.

Even if that was the case, shouldn't I be able to see the Domestic Business Lounge as well? Right now I can only see the Qantas Club.

Also, I think the flight is classed as an international flight because I can't upgrade to business class.

I booked an 'N' fare which is normally upgradable for domestic flights, but not on QF9 because it's an 'international sale fare'.

Perhaps go to the first class lounge, explain your predicament and see if they'll let you use the First Lounge pass. They may be able to manually approve the use of it. Worth a try.

Worst case is they say no and you need to wait at the gate lounge or go to another lounge (if you have access to that).

Platinum frequent flyers who are only on the domestic leg of QF9 have access to the F lounge, so I would give it a go.

Thanks for your help everyone! I eventually was given the number for the Platinum One SST, who said it was likely a website technical fault they would look into.

Worst case scenario, they'll arrange it with the First hosts directly closer to the travel dates.

Doesn't QF9 depart from the international terminal? You wouldn't be able to access the domestic lounge I would have thought.

QF9 departs from Melbourne International Terminal 2, so there is actually no option to use the domestic lounge so you shoudl be fine.
