Staying in shape when travelling far and wide is no mean feat, but Virgin Australia‘s newest partner Jetts Fitness aims to change that by awarding Velocity Frequent Flyer points on gym memberships, along with an extra serve of bonus points if you’re a regular visitor.

You’ll earn two Velocity points per dollar spent on your gym membership with no lock-in contracts, plus a bonus 60 frequent flyer points each month if you’ve hit the gym at least five times on five different days.

As a welcome bonus, you’ll pick up 750 bonus frequent flyer points when choosing the no-contract ‘Freedom Direct Debit’ payment option, or 3,500 bonus frequent flyer points when pre-paying for a year of membership.

That annual subscription is also slashed from $549 to $489 for Velocity members, on which you’ll still earn two points per dollar on top of the bonus points.

New members – whether on direct debit or pre-paid each year – also pay once-off ‘club access fees’, including an $89 joining fee and $59 for an access pass, although you’ll also earn two Velocity points per dollar on these payments.

Bonus points on sign-up are offered when taking out a new membership between October 13 and November 30 2014 and again from January 1 2015 to February 28 2015, with existing members now able to link their Jetts membership with Velocity to earn two points per dollar on all future payments, and the 60-point workout bonus.

As part of the tie-up, travellers who already hold Silver, Gold or Platinum status with Velocity can earn 500,000 Velocity points when buying and opening a Jetts franchise during the same time periods.

To get started as a new member, head to the Jetts website and sign-up online, or if you’re already a Jetts gym junkie, simply call 1300 JETTS 247 (1300 53887 247) to link your memberships and start earning Velocity points on your workout.

Yeah I thought that strange too.. Although V Active is an extremely small player in terms of network, I would have thought they could fit it in.. Brand loyalty and all that..
