Etihad Guest: earn double points, fast-track to Gold status

By Chris Chamberlin, September 24 2014

If you’re soon flying with Etihad to Abu Dhabi and beyond, a new Etihad Guest promotion could have you on your way to Silver, Gold or Gold Elite status in no time, while also earning double frequent flyer points to redeem for flight awards and upgrades.

You’ll pocket double miles on all first class, business class and economy flights booked between September 22 and October 6 for travel from September 23 through to December 15 2014.

And, if you’re flying in business or first class, you’ll also earn double tier miles under the same booking and travel dates.

Tier miles are the Etihad Guest equivalent of ‘status credits’ as we Aussies know it, so earning double tier miles has the same effect with Etihad as double status credits has with Qantas or Virgin Australia.

To earn your bonus bounty, just register for the offer with your Etihad Guest number via the Etihad website and book your flights before October 6 2014.

Double miles and double tier points are only available on Etihad Airways' own flights with an EY flight number – that excludes codeshares, so if you're booking Virgin Australia's flights from Sydney to Abu Dhabi, you won’t net anything extra under this deal.

As an added bonus, every Etihad booking made before October 6 gets you in with a shot at winning 100,000 Etihad Guest miles, so register now!

I'm looking to go in August/September.  It's also a bit of a punt as to whether or not I should buy the ticket early, or wait and hope there's a decent sale or offer like this - these sorts of offers always seem to be last minute - obviously as they're trying to secure more seats.  Hrm, what to do, what to do!
