Etihad Guest hooks up with South African Airways' Voyager

Etihad Airways and South African Airways are extending their alliance to cover their respective Guest and Voyager frequent flyer schemes.

Already enjoying a range of codeshare services, Etihad and South African will kick off the frequent flyer partnership with a 'double miles' offer covering travel on both airlines through to June 30th, 2014.

In both cases, the number of miles earned will depend upon the class of travel flown.

The 'earn and burn' agreement also includes redeeming Etihad Guest and Voyager miles on each partner airline.

To redeem miles for reward flights on South African Airways, Etihad Guest members must contact the Etihad Guest Service Centre a minimum of 14 days prior to the intended date of travel.

Earlier this year South African Airways entered into a codeshare relationship with Etihad's local partner Virgin Australia, following Qantas’ decision to abandon its alliance with South African Airways from May 31st.

Wow!  Etihad's virtual alliance keeps growing!  It will be interesting to see if Velocity follows suit with SAA.
