Qantas goes bigger with Broome lounge

Qantas’ regional lounge in Broome has completed its recent expansion, which gives passengers more space to relax and work prior to their flight.

Open from 60 minutes before each flight departure and with a new tarmac view, the lounge features complimentary light refreshments, magazines, newspapers, high speed wi-fi and Foxtel.

Artwork within the regional Qantas Club comes from local indigenous artists Caroline Nuidoo and Roseanne Patrick, adding to the home-grown feel of the lounge.

Qantas Domestic Chief Executive Officer Lyell Strambi said the expansion of the lounge had improved facilities for members and guests and provided a fresh new customer experience.

“With thousands of Qantas passengers moving through the terminal each week, we have seen first-hand the significant growth in leisure and regional business travel to Broome” said Mr Strambi.

Located on the mezzanine level next to check-in, Broome features one of the airline’s twelve regional lounges – the other locations being Coffs Harbour, Devonport, Emerald, Gladstone, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Launceston, Mackay, Port Hedland, Rockhampton and Tamworth.

In other regional destinations, travellers miss out on a lounge altogether. Here, we'd certainly favour an Air New Zealand-eque 'non-lounge' over nothing at all.

Qantas and QantasLink operate approximately 20 flights each week to the popular Western Australian destination from Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, using the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 717 aircraft.
