Frasers Hospitality will spread its wings into Tokyo, Japan with the opening of a Fraser Suites Tokyo property in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Redeveloped from an existing four-storey commercial building, the hotel will ultimately span 23 storeys to host 223 unit-style serviced residences in studio and one-bedroom layouts, amidst the Minato-ku, Akasaka district.
Each will feature separate living, dining and bedroom areas with guests having access to a 24-hour fitness centre and a golf simulator, along with an alfresco dining restaurant with a beer garden and Fraser Hospitality’s signature ‘Retreat’ zone in a tranquil setting.
Located near many foreign embassies and the Prime Minister’s official residence, the hotel is ideally-positioned for those making diplomatic visits but also those on other business or visiting for the Olympics, being nearby the Akasaka, Akasakamitsuke and Aoyamaicchome public transport stations.
“Globally we aim to have a presence in major key gateway cities, and our entrance into Tokyo brings us one step closer to this goal,” said Choe Peng Sum, Frasers Hospitality Group CEO.
“Japan is a very important market and one of the industrial and economic leaders in the Asia Pacific region,” Choe continues, adding that the chain “expects to see a rise in room rates against the backdrop of increasing demand.”
The Fraser Suites Tokyo is one of 48 new properties the group plans to open by 2019, with new properties also on the radar across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
