Air New Zealand took the bold but brilliant move of hiring reknowned US design firm IDEO to rethink the B777 cabin from tip to tail. Here's the lie-flat business class seat which includes a soft mattress and duvet.
The innovative Premium Economy seats are closer to what some airlines might call business class. In this 2-2-2 config the centre seats offer privacy but can be adapted for couples.
Flying with a friend? The over-sized armrests double as a table so you can share a meal (and if you're more than just friends you can play footsies under the table).
Of course, if you're REALLY close your flying partner can stick her feet up on the armrests...
... or use you as her footrest while she sleeps. Warning: be wary of total strangers who try to pull this stunt.
Of course, the real attention-getter in this radical B777 fitout is the 'cuddle-class' economy config. The bottom of the seats extend to form a 'couch' of sorts.
And here is where 'cuddle class' gets its name. But only the first 11 rows of economy feature this seating, the rest are standard economy seats.
