Nicely presented: the kit comes as a compact black package wrapped in a silver paper ribbon emblazoned 'Introducing a new way to fly'.
Inside are two of the smartchipped Q Bag Tags designed by Marc Newson (extra tags will be available for an additional fee).
A little welcome letter from Qantas CEO Alan Joyce. How thoughtful...
And here we have the redesigned 2011 Qantas card flanked by the bag tags.
Qantas prefers to call this the Q Card, having dropped the 'Frequent Flyer' branding from the front of the card.
The new Platinum card (right) actually has more of a platinum sheen compared to the champagne gold hues of its predecessor (left).
As you can judge from the size of the card, the bag tags are roughly the size of your palm.
Close-up detail on the front of the tag, which uses an RFID chip to pair itself with your Q Card (containing a matching chip).
