How much could you save on corporate travel with Singapore Airlines?

If your business has employees that regularly travel domestically and internationally, your company could save a significant amount on its air travel when signing up for the Singapore Airlines Corporate Travel Programme.

The Corporate Travel Programme is different to the company frequent flyer rewards schemes that you may have seen floating around.

Instead of the company earning points on its employees’ travel, the Corporate Travel Programme allows your business to lock in up-front discounts on its business travel spend.

That means immediate savings for the travel budget, and substantial discounts on business travel for you and your employees.

How much could you save?

Savings with the Singapore Airlines Corporate Travel Program are significant and available across all cabin classes – when comparing three key destinations in Europe and Asia, the corporate fares come in hundreds of dollars cheaper than the standard fares offered:

Destination

Sydney to London

Melbourne to Mumbai

Perth to Tokyo

Published Fare (AUD)

$7,694

$5,702

$4,300

Corporate Fare (AUD)

$7,155

$5,303

$3,999

Cost Savings (AUD)

$539

$399

$301

Keep in mind that these numbers are based on the minimum discount amount offered through the Corporate Travel Programme on a standard business class ticket1 – Singapore Airlines can offer even sharper discounts for eligible companies, but you’ll need to get in touch with them to find out more.

Combine your Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia spend to save even more

Singapore Airlines also has a joint offering with Virgin Australia, allowing your company to access corporate fares for savings not only on the Singapore Airlines' international network, but also across the Virgin Australia domestic network. What’s even more handy is that you can leverage your spend on both Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines to get even larger discounts.

That means that whether your employees mainly fly internationally, domestically, or both, your travel on either airline goes towards saving you more money, not to mention the added benefit of having a single travel agreement to cover all of your travel.

Additionally, you and your employees also enjoy reciprocal frequent flyer benefits between KrisFlyer and Velocity, which means you can convert KrisFlyer Miles and Velocity Points between both programmes for an even greater range of benefits.

Who can join?

Because the savings are substantial, the Singapore Airlines Corporate Travel Programme is restricted to businesses that can meet a certain annual spend and are offered entry to the programme2. The Singapore Airlines’ standalone Corporate Travel Programme (for travel only on Singapore Airlines, SilkAir and select Scoot services), has a threshold of just $50,000, so if you regularly travel to Asia or Europe this might be the programme for your business.

If you are looking to include Virgin Australia, your business will need to be spending a minimum of $300,000 across both Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines on eligible routes to be eligible for the Corporate Travel Programme2.

To put that in real terms, if your business has eight or nine eligible travellers3 flying interstate each month, and five or six people taking international trips to meet suppliers or clients each quarter, you may already qualify for the minimum threshold to be offered entry to the programme.

What if you don’t meet the eligibility criteria?

Alternatively, Singapore Airlines has HighFlyer -  their earn and burn rewards program that doesn’t require any minimum spend and has no joining fees or ongoing fees. Instead, your company will earn points on you and your employees’ business travel, which can then be used to offset the cost of future air travel.
