IHG plans new Hotel Indigo property for Brisbane

InterContinental Hotels Group will debut its first Hotel Indigo property in the region by 2020 with the opening of the Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley hotel.

Located at 458 Brunswick Street in ‘The Valley’ – Brisbane’s entertainment and nightlife district – the property will be several blocks from most major bars and nightclubs, and a five-block walk from Fortitude Valley railway station, linked to Brisbane Airport by the city’s Airtrain service.

From Fortitude Valley Station, you can also arrive at Brisbane Central in just one stop, Roma Street Station (nearby Brisbane’s legal district) in two stops and South Brisbane in three: providing easy access to the South Bank restaurant precinct and the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The hotel and its 140 rooms will take design cues from the local neighbourhood, also reflected across its restaurant menus, with the property angled to offer a boutique hotel experience, but one that’s backed by a global chain in IHG.

“We expect Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley to be the leading lifestyle boutique hotel in Brisbane, bringing a new and vibrant experience to the city,” said IHG COO Australia & Japan, Karin Sheppard.

Fortitude Valley is “a neighbourhood that’s historical yet shiny and new; traditional but experimental. Hotel Indigo will bring to life the spirit of this neighbourhood, and celebrate its diverse community,” Sheppard continues.

The property will be part of a mixed-use development which will also house residences, commercial offices and retail space.

It’s expected that IHG Rewards Club members will earn and redeem points at Brisbane’s Hotel Indigo property, as they can with IHG’s upcoming Holiday Inn Express: Brisbane Central hotel when it opens in mid-April 2017.

It's really good to see another new hotel in Brisbane. Even though this will be the New Farm end, and away from most of the 'nightlife' in The Valley.
