London's Heathrow Airport gets dedicated 'shopping lounge'

Heathrow Airport's 'personal shopping service' is going even more upmarket with the launch of a new lounge exclusive to duty-free shoppers.

The space in Terminal 3 is reserved for clients of Heathrow's concierge-style shopping consultants who can help travellers – especially those pressed for time ot just too tired at the end of their business trip – to find the right items to take home, especially if they're intended as gifts for partners, family or colleagues.

The free service can be booked 48 hours in advance online, and a concierge will then contact you to zone in on what you're looking for.

A shortlist will be pulled together from the airport's brand-name stores including Bulgari, Burberry, Cartier,  Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada, with the options to pre-reserve seasonal items.

Your 'personal shopper' meets you after security and escorts you to the private lounge to make your selections – with crowdsourced feedback available through a  'connected mirror' which can send snaps to your social media accounts to get immediate and hopefully positive feedback from friends.
