Marriott Hotel Parkview opens in Shanghai, China

Marriott has planted another flag in China with this week's opening of the new Shanghai Marriott Hotel Parkview.

The Shanghai Marriott Hotel Parkview is stacked with 317 rooms and suites, the best boasting scenic views of the neighbouring Daning Lingshi park.

Executive floor guests can enjoy free food and drinks in the Executive Lounge on the 25th floor.

The rooms have been designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates with bathroom amenities by Thann.

The hotel is home to four signature food and beverage outlets. Shanghai City Bistro is an all-day dining restaurant featuring live action cooking stations, while the Man Ho Chinese Restaurant specialises in authentic Cantonese and Shanghainese cuisine with eight private dining rooms.

Tatsumi is a contemporary Japanese & Korean dining space, serving up a tasteful blend of north Asian delicacies – while guests can also relax in The Lounge, where a selection of soft drinks and set afternoon teas are on offer.

The hotel’s leisure amenities include a 24-hour fitness centre and indoor swimming pool, as well as access to a golf practice green and a tennis court.

The property also claims to be the only hotel in Shanghai’s city centre with two full-sized pillar-less ballrooms, as well as a selection of five flexible function rooms or conference spaces.

Situated next to 'multimedia valley' in Zhabei District and close to the core business districts of Shanghai, the hotel is a five minute walk to Metro Line 1, while only 15 minutes by car to the likes of People’s Square and the Bund.

It’ll take about 25 minutes from Hongqiao Airport to reach the hotel by car or taxi, and about 45 minutes from Shanghai’s Pudong Airport – depending on Shangai's notorious traffic, of course!
