Marriott plans new luxury Edition hotel for Dubai

Marriott International will draw the curtains on a new hotel in Dubai come 2018 with the opening of a new luxury-lifestyle Edition-brand property.

Following the expected 2016 unveiling of the neighbouring Edition Abu Dhabi, the 258-room Dubai hotel will sit on the waterfront as part of Jumeirah Beach Residence and a 1.7km-long promenade.

In addition to the expected food and beverage outlets, the Edition Dubai hotel will boast a raft of business and leisure facilities including a day spa, beach club, meeting rooms, business centre and a special event space.

“Dubai remains one of the most important and vibrant destinations in the world,” said Alex Kyriakidis, Marriott International President for Middle East and Africa.

“Following the iconic openings of London, Miami Beach and New York City, we couldn’t be more excited about the potential for this brand in the region,” he added.

Future Edition hotels are planned for Sanya, China (2016); Bangkok (2016); Times Square (2018); West Hollywood (2018); Reykjavik, Iceland (2018); Wuhan, China (2019); and Bali, Indonesia (2019).
