Microsoft boosts free OneDrive online storage space to 15GB

TRAVEL TECH | Microsoft is amping up the free storage in its OneDrive online service and slashing the cost of adding extra cloud capacity.
Entry-level OneDrive accounts – the free ones available to anybody who cares ot sign up – will more than double from 7GB to 15GB
If that's not enough, you'll be able to buy additional blocks of 100GB and 200GB of OneDrive space for a fraction of the former price – 100GB now costs A$2 per month, down from $9/month, while 200GB drops to A$4/month from A$14/month.
Office 365 subscribers will also see a boost in their OneDrive accounts, rocketing from 20GB to a hefty 1TB.
These 'software as a service' accounts, which include the use of Microsoft's Office for iPad apps, kick off from A$9/month for Office 365 personal and A$12/month for Office 365 Home.
All of these OneDrive updates will kick in throughout July. - ok

A bit of a non-event overall. Apple iCloud Drive is switching to 200GB for $4 as well, so it's not really enough for me to make the switch back. Google's pricing remains equally competitive.
Still, I guess this is kind of good news for those of us stuck on Windows/Office for work. If only we could install OneDrive onto the heavily locked-down IT infrastructure ..

@_bj I'd be happy if I could even access OneDrive via my browser, it's a prohibited site for my organisation. Off topic, I'd be happy if they'd just upgrade the web browser to anything besides I.E.8.... I think I'd even take a downgrade!

Haha, I just got upgraded from IE7 to IE8 - I have a sneaking suspicion that we're probably working for the same organisation! ;)

FileLocker have a similar service and their DC is Melbourne - $7-8 a month and unlimited storage.
