New Boeing 787 has unique Star Wars livery

Here's an aircraft which every Star Wars fan will be wanting to fly: a Boeing 787 Dreamliner sporting Star Wars livery...

... specifically, painted to pay homage to the series' droid R2-D2.

Created by Japan's All Nippon Airways to mark December's release of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the eye-catching Boeing 787 will fly across a number of ANA's international routes later this year.

The airline says that 'Project R2-D2' is part of a five-year licensing agreement with Star Wars owner Disney that “will connect Japan to the global market.”

With several new Star Wars films underway, from continuations to the original series to stand-alone movies and even a rumoured TV series (think Game of Thrones with less flesh and more Force), we hope that means plenty more Dreamliners dressed in different Star Wars livery.

Watch a video of ANA's Star Wars Boeing 787 below: (there's no audio, but feel free to play John Williams' rousing Star Wars fanfare  as background music – or choose the military triplet of The Imperial March, aka Darth Vader's Theme, for a more ominous vibe.)

Have to find out when this'll be in Centreair. Kids will love to see it. Japanese airports almost all have public observation decks, this'll draw the fanboys :)
