The EU government has a new iPhone, iPad and Android app to help travellers figure out what their airlines are obliged to do in the event of flight delays or cancellations.
European regulations mean that business travellers whose flights are disrupted are entitled to compensation -- but since it's up to airlines to tell you what you're due, it's often difficult to figure out how much the airline owes you.
The snappily named Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport thinks it has the answer: an equally snappily named Your Passenger Rights smartphone and tablet app that means you always have the info with you.
It's a lot easier to point to an official page of text when dealing with an airline to demand they take proper care of you if they're messed up your travel.
And fortunately, the apps run offline and don't require a web connection.
Don't expect an interactive app, though -- it's mainly text that describe what's due to particular types of traveller, rather than the chance to pick your circumstances.
But they're a useful addition to that "travel" folder of apps on our smartphones.
