Fast track: earn IHG One Rewards Platinum status in just five nights

Christmas has come early for IHG One Rewards members, with a new ‘Fast Track to Elite’ promotion unlocking the precious perks of Gold Elite status with only two nights’ stay and Platinum Elite in just five nights – and the opportunity to keep that status all the way to December 2023.

The offer is open to all IHG One Rewards members who have received a special promotional code via email, so check your inbox (and your junk mail and spam folders) because you won’t want to miss this one.

Also, note that this invite-only offer cannot be transferred or shared – your invitation email includes a promo code that’s necessary for registration, and which is for you and you alone.

To achieve IHG One Rewards Gold Elite, members must stay two “qualifying nights” before December 23. Gold Elite status normally requires 20 nights, so this is quite the short cut.

Add three more “qualifying nights” by as late as December 31 and your IHG One Rewards status is upgraded to Platinum Elite (which usually takes 40 nights).

To top it off, achieve Gold Elite or Platinum Elite during this promotion and you’ll be able to hold onto your newly-attained status until December 31, 2023.

Gold Elite and Platinum Elite status in the IHG One Rewards scheme offer plenty of practical benefits, from bonus IHG One Rewards points and rollover status nights at Gold to complimentary upgrades (including suites) at Platinum.

If you’re planning to stay at any IHG property – such as InterContinental, Hotel Indigo, Kimpton, Voco, Crowne Plaza or even a Holiday Inn – before the end of the year, or have the opportunity to choose IHG properties for a trip between now and then, signing up for this IHG One Rewards offer is simply a must-do.

Note that your qualifying stays at IHG properties must be booked directly through IHG or the hotel’s web site: the promotion’s Terms & Conditions spell out that “bookings made through on-line travel agencies or other reservation sites such as or are not eligible for this Promotion.”

I am platinum with IHG for about 5 years, won’t maintain it for next year and don’t really care as I know IHG will give it away and with some promotion or status match within a few months of being downgraded anyway.

I am Hyatt LT Diamond(now Globalist) and they have always trreated me well and very organised in status points and bonuses and no need to check after stays. I did live in one hotel in HK for 6 years round 275 nights a year and treat you like family and very adaptable toany changes and help. Would not conisder any other programme.
