Travellers jetting out from London’s Heathrow Terminal 4 – home to the likes of Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways and Malaysian Airlines – now have an additional pay-per-use lounge option with Plaza Premium Group rolling out a fresh ‘Blush Lounge’ concept earlier this week.
Located near Gate 2 in the Departures area, not far from the existing Plaza Premium Lounge, the new space is actually a rebadging of the old ART&LOUNGE, which was previously accessible to Priority Pass members. And before that, it was the El Al King David Lounge, also managed by Plaza Premium.
Virtually unchanged since then, save for a new sign out the front, the Blush Lounge welcomes up to 105 guests and offers buffet dining plus a limited drinks menu with house beer and wines, in addition to vegetarian and kosher meals “tailored to serve guests from Middle Eastern carriers, including El Al Airlines”, a Plaza Premium Group spokesperson tells Executive Traveller.
Natural finishes such as timber and stone create a calming ambience, with pops of neon blue from a curved chandelier and ceiling lights injecting a flourish of personality. Runway views and a mix of lounges and tables, in addition to pod seats ideal for small groups, complete the picture.
Complimentary WiFi access and a charging station are also included.
However, unlike its fellow Plaza Premium Lounge, the Blush does not offer shower facilities, nor a cocktail bar and VIP area, making it more of a drop-in space prior to your flight.
Okan Kufeci, Senior Vice President, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Plaza Premium Group, says the team is happy to expand options for travellers from one of the world’s busiest hubs.
“The opening of the new Blush Lounge strengthens our presence in Heathrow Airport as we have several properties under Plaza Premium Lounge across Terminal 2, 4 and 5, as well as Aerotel, our 82-bedroom in-airport hotel located inside Terminal 3, Arrivals,” Kufeci adds.
Accessible for £27 (AUD $48) for one hour, or £39 (AUD$70) for two, the Blush lounge is open daily – except Friday – for all travellers regardless of class or travel between 3pm until 7pm. Dragon Pass members and corporate cardholders including AMEX Platinum enjoy complimentary access.
But don’t expect to see Blush Lounges spring up at other airports around the world: “currently, there are no plans to expand Blush,” a Plaza Premium Group spokesperson tells Executive Traveller.
