Singapore Airlines extends PPS Club, KrisFlyer Elite status up to 2024

Singapore Airlines will extend the expiration date of KrisFlyer Elite and PPS Club status for a third successive year, in a move sure to be welcomed by frequent flyers who've been largely grounded by the stop-start recovery of international travel.

All KrisFlyer Elite and PPS Club members whose status runs out between March 2022 and February 2023 will now enjoy another 12 months at the same tier.

Elite miles earned through flights with Singapore Airlines or low-cost arm Scoot will be credited back to accounts after the original expiry date.

In addition, Elite miles earned during the previous requalification year will be rolled over to count towards the tally needed to retain or graduate to a higher level in the next membership year.

And it's not just status that's protected – those KrisFlyer miles used to book flights and snare upgrades will also stay fresher for longer

Every month that your KrisFlyer miles balance is set to expire across 2022, their use-by date will be extended by six months at a time.

(Unlike some other frequent flyer programs where points and miles in the traveller's account remain valid as long as there's some points earned or even spent during a set period – such as 18 months, in the case of Qantas Frequent Flyer – individual KrisFlyer miles have a strict use-by date, normally expiring three years after the month in which they were earned.)

Singapore Airlines Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, JoAnn Tan, said it was all part of the airline rewarding “PPS Club and KrisFlyer members for their continued loyalty.”

In the same vein, perks earned through the PPS Rewards and KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards due to expire in 2022 will be extended to 31 December 2022. 

Singapore Airlines is also rolling out KrisFlyer member benefits for Scoot flights, such as priority boarding; free standard seat selection; an extra 5kgs allowance when adding baggage to a fare; and a 25% bonus on the normal KrisFlyer miles earn rate for flying with Scoot.

There are also two new Milestone Rewards tiers for members whose Elite miles balances sit below the previous minimum 5,000 threshold.

At just 1,000 Elite miles you can pocket an additional 1,000 miles on your next Scoot flight, and at 2,500 Elite miles there's a 20% discount "on selected base fares."
