Singapore Airlines drops mask-wearing rules
From next week masks will no longer be compulsory on all SQ flights or even at Changi Airport.

Singapore Airlines will no longer require face masks to be worn on all flights as of Monday August 29, in line with an easing of restrictions by the city-state’s government.
This will also see masks become optional rather than mandatory at Changi Airport and its lounges.
“With effect from 29 August 2022, customers are not required to wear face masks on board flights, unless they are travelling to or from destinations that require a face mask,” Singapore Airlines said in a statement.
And that list of destinations is admittedly a mixed bag, due to the varying rules of each country.
No masks need to be worn on Singapore Airlines flights to and from the USA, the UK, France, Switzerland, Thailand and New Zealand, for example.
Masks will still be required Singapore Airlines flights to Australia, but not from Australia.
And masks will for now remain must-wear apparel on flights to and from Canada, Germany, India, South Korea and Spain.
In other words: you might be best to pack a mask regardless... at least you’ll have the option to whip that mask off as soon as you step off the plane at Changi Airport.

Be buggered if I would be wearing a mask all flight. Sooner find another airline or stay home.

Doesn't surprise me.
All the main American airline (American, Delta, Southwest, United, Alaska, Frontier, JetBlue and Spirit) all require masks.
Air Asia, Air Canada, Air France, Lufthansa Group, KLM, Malaysian Airlines, Thai Airways, Wizz Air and many others require passengers or strongly recommend passengers to wear face mask too.

Seriously do these face masks really work, I've read where some doctors are saying they're a total waste of time. It's seems to me that Corona Virus is here to tell us how we should run our lives, thanks buy no thanks. To be honest I'm over this crap.

Absolutely disappointed, returning to Australia on the 1st of September with SQ and as usual Australia is again lagging behind the getting rid of the Mask wearing on the Plane. But have no Mask wearing in the Airport especially in Sydney with People in long 100 -200meter long lanes of people crammed into Security and Passport controls. Absolute Joke

Agree - we should only have to wear a mask once the aircraft hits "Australian airspace" although admittedly that would still mean having to endure a pointless mask for at least 5 hours (if flying to eastern seaboard from Singapore)

Optional maybe the better way, Changi is packed out in the business lounge and terminal, first class lounge isn’t.
