Virgin Australia is dangling the proverbial carrot to its Velocity Frequent Flyers with a new Double Points offer on all eligible flight bookings made before August 17.
To start rolling in the points, you simply need to visit the promo page, enter your Velocity membership number and hit activate, then book a flight before midnight on the 17th. But don’t worry, you don’t to jet off before then, with the travel period extending out to July 4, 2023.
Virgin’s latest double-dip is sure to be of interest to frequent travellers, with members earning 10 Velocity Points per $1 spent, instead of the normal five. That can make a big difference.
As an example, a one-way business class fare from Sydney to Melbourne will set you back $299, with the bonus points promo netting you a cool 2,990 points.
So what are the details?
- Double Points are available on all Virgin Australia-operated domestic and international short haul flights and fares, excluding Velocity Reward Seat bookings.
- The offer applies to bookings made before 11:59pm Wednesday 17 August 2022, with a travel period until 11:59pm July 4, 2023.
- Codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines are not eligible for this offer.
- Bonus points will be allocated up to four weeks after completion of your flight.
Those hoping to score double points on their Silver/Gold/Platinum member bonuses will be disappointed however, with the double points only applying to the base earn.
Points redeemable on reward flights, hotel stays, and car hire, as well as online shopping.
Rival Qantas also offers double status credits at various times of the year.
