Philippe Starck's new first class, business class amenity kits

Philippe Starck is the latest designer to add his famous name to inflight amenity kits, although they've yet to find their way onto any airline.

Bound for first class and business class, the kits come in hard and soft versions of male, female and unisex kits, in a diverse palette of colours.

As a frequent flyer himself, Starck says the notion of creating something that people would want to keep rather than discard, truly challenged him.

"From the beginning of the creative process, two words appeared to me: the elegance and the gift," he explains.

"We create such an elegant and intelligent object that it would truly become a gift. And it might be the first time that passengers will open the bag and say: Oh! This is exactly what I wanted!"

Thats quite odd to be designing stuff like this without being comissioned by an actual airline.

He's a designer, it's what they do and sometimes a client doesn't know they have an issue until a desinger tells them so and has an answer.  That doen't look like a big job there.

If it has a dual purpose/reuse - would need to know size, it looks good.
