IN BRIEF | Cathay Pacific has opened its refurbished First and Business Class lounge at Frankfurt International Airport, and travellers familiar with CX's flagship lounges at Hong Kong will feel right at home.

The new look of the 370 square metre lounge – located in Terminal 2, opposite Gates E6 to E9 – is modelled on the Hong Kong lounges, especially The Wing and The Pier.

The reception area (above) is built with Carrara white marble, and there's the Long Table – aptly named because it's, well, a long table – for eating, working and socialising.

The dining area features an improved buffet spread offering a selection of warm and cold Western and Asian dishes, drinks, warm soup, sandwiches, salad, fresh bread, fruits and desserts. There's also a 'snack line' handily located in the front of the lounge.

With a seating capacity of over 100, the lounge also has three shower stalls. Add free wifi throughout the lounge plus the obligatory handful of desktop PCs and you're ready to pass those few pre-flight hours in comfort.

The lounge is open from 6am to 2pm and then from 6pm through to midnight. It's open to First and Business Class passengers travelling on Cathay Pacific and oneworld partners such as Qantas and British Airways; as well as members of Cathay's Marco Polo Club with Silver Card status and above, and oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members (which includes Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum and Gold).
