Singapore Airlines adds fourth daily flight for Perth

Singapore Airlines is beefing up its presence in Perth, with a fourth daily service to Singapore starting on October 28.

The new  Boeing 777-200 service SQ214 will depart Perth at 5.30pm and arrive into Singapore at 10.45pm; the SQ213 return leg leaves Singapore at 7.55am for wheels-down into the WA capital at 1.10pm.

Earlier this month Singapore Airlines announced plans for a second daily Airbus A380 service between Melbourne and Singapore starting August 16.

Other changes rippling through SQ's 'Northern Winter' timetable include the introduction of an Airbus A380 on the SQ001/002 flight from SIngapore to Hong Kong and thence on to San Francisco, for the period December 28, 2012 to March 24, 2013. The superjumbo will replace that route's Boeing 777-300ER.

Also in line for some seasonal A380 love is the Singapore-Tokyo (Narita) SQ638/SQ637 service, which like Hong Kong will be that route's second daily A380 flight.

Meanwhile, the rumour mill is suggesting that QFi is going to pull out of PER completely! https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/qantas-frequent-flyer-program/rumour-qfi-to-withdraw-perth-41581-6.html

Let's see what actually happens there – mere rumours and whispers in this game are a dime a dozen, and not worth getting het up about until there's more concrete information.

qantas once again misses the mark with only 2 daily flights & they are usually booked out, yet singapore has 4 full service flights.

was just in singapore connecting from cathay to qantas to perth but due to delays as a result of the typhoon in hk the flight in was delayed so missed connection, yet cathay, who took full responsibility couldnt rebook with qantas for two days due to fully booked flights in  both business & economy (qantas said all flights overbooked) so cathay flew us to hk then back to perth the next day.

On way up to connect with cathay flight to colombo on the 11th of july qantas cancelled their morning flight, perth - sing 2 months out, so we couldn't connect, this was at the start of the school holidays!

When I asked why cancel they couldn"t give a valid reply except "operational reasons", this 2 months out! We booked on another airline.

this route is a gold mine yet they seem determined to hand it over to other carriers, what is wrong with them!

thank goodness for qatar now flying to perth & the 2 daily flights with emirates!

Why would Qantas be pulling A330's out of Perth International routes you ask?? Look at the other article about the introduction of more A330 services coast to coast where more internationally configured A330's are being introduced to compete with Virgin. Also, Emirates and SQ are on an unstoppable expansion into Australia, which is the slow death for Qantas international - unless of course they wake up and establish workable alliances and publish competitive fares. The QF/Emirates alliance is having issues getting off the ground. That would be because Emirates really doesn't need Qantas - they already service every Australian capital city once Adelaide starts, and have multiple connections to Europe through Dubai. Currently, there is Qantas via Singapore (7 hours plus 14 hours to Europe plus Heathrow and another flight to other destinations) OR Emirates (12 hours to Dubai and 5 hours average to ANY European destination) - do the maths.
