Thai Airways upgrades cabins with 'Contemporary Concept' interior

Thai Airways has debuted a refreshed design for the cabin and interiors of its new Boeing 777s as well as forthcoming Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A350s.
Dubbed 'Thai Contemporary Concept', it introduces wooden slats as privacy panels and dresses parts of the cabin in silk adorned with an intricate 'kanok' motif. These touches are intended to soften the sometimes overwhelming purple in Thai's Royal Silk business class cabin.
Thai says the revamped business class seats fitted to its new Boeing 777s also offer more foot space and an improved seat control unit, while Panasonic's eX2 inflight entertainment system is piped through a 16 inch display with a touchscreen remote control.
London-based design firm Priestmangoode created Thai's new look cabins, drawing inspiration from their recent overhaul of Thai's Boeing 747 Oasis first class cabins (shown below).
The new Oasis First Class cabin was inspired by Thailand's spa retreats, with shades of gold and purple reflecting the Thai Airways brand colours complemented by muted grey tones and accents of wood.
Wooden angled privacy louvres enable passengers to see out but prevent others looking in to each suite.
Priestmangoode says its new "cabin vision" for Thai's international fleet will be introduced to all new aircraft including fourteen Boeing 777-300ERs to be delivered over the next two years; the first of six Boeing 787 Dreamliners due later this year; and twelve Airbus A350-900s in 2016-2017.

They may have great connections but Thai hardware and software is sub-standard. The lounge at their main port of Bangkok leaves much to be desired. You'd think that they would get that one right!

I was in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport 8 Days ago and the lounges were OK, comparable to lounges in US eg: United Club, Delta Sky Clubs but with more snacks and drinks. As I was traveling with SQ I disided to try all the Star Alliance Lounges in BKK after connectiongfrom a TG domestic Flight with 5 hour transit. At Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport there are 4 Thai Royal Slik Lounges (Buisness Class, Star Aliance Gold) at Concourse D (Main: 314 Passengers), Concourse C East (145 P.), Concourse C West (114 P.) and Concourse E East (168 P.), plus a Domestic TG Royal Silk Lounge (*A G) at Concourse A (217 P.). Also, there are Multiple First Class Lounges too. Not to also mention SQ's Silver Kriss Lounge and Eva Air (BR) Lounge, too. Air China (CA), Asiana (OZ), Ethiopian Airlines (ET)& United Airlines (UA) Contract the Louis Tavern Lounge too. If you don't like any of the following lounges there is also a free Economy Transit Lounge (Concourse B, Level 3)

Good news as MEL will get the 77W come 30MAR with new J ! Only on the red-eye flights TG461/462, while TG465/466 remains 772/773.

Travelling in F on Thai 747 BKK to SYD in February and looking forward to trying the new seats. Didn't realise they had refurbished the 747's as most airlines are starting to phase these out.

Perhaps I'm being to brutal here but this looks like Etihad and Garuda business/first simply painted 'Thai Airways' colours. Maybe a few mods.
I'm not saying it's not a cool looking seat, it looks great. I'm saying we shouldn't take someone elses idea, changing it just enough so we can legally call it our own and then pretending that we've done something revolutionary.
In fairness to the team at Thai, coming up with some brand apnking new is very, very difficult.
