Possible to transfer status credits from etihad to another airline? A friend flew business with Etihad to London not long ago and he has a heap of Status Credits and points that he isnt likely to use in future. What can be done with these? Can they be transfered? Appreciate anyones help.

No.  Stick with Etihad FF when flying Virgin.

A loyalty program is just that.  An airline will not reward disloyalty, even within alliances, through a transfer.  Another airline might recognise status if they are trying to poach loyalty, such as Virgin recognising Qantas Gold last year.

Thus, if your friend wants to maintain the benefits earned with Etihad FF, then they will need to fly Virgin Australia and Air Berlin, which recognises Etihad's status.

So can the points earned, be used for domestic virgin australia flights? or do the points have to used with etihad?

And do Virgin Australia status credits earned on aus domestic flights, go towards etihad status building if you quote your etihad number instead of velocity number?

That's a question for Etihad, but the Etihad website does state one can Earn and Burn Etihad points with Virgin Australia.
