I think this is a fair question to ask. A similar issue was faced in India recently with the floods in Chennai. Airfares skyrocketed, forcing the Federal Government to (threaten to) intervene by fixing prices. Not sure of the outcome. Though, I admit India and Tasmania are slightly (!) different markets.

I wonder why this hasn't been censored as "off topic" and "unrelated to the subject"?  Perhaps the policy applies only to some.

It's a free website that the team do a great job to provide, you are hardly in the position to go making demands, let it go! Let the vote counts speak for themselves!

^^ Wilsoni, another example of a personal comment that's off topic.

Hello citizens, it's just the original poster boy here. Much to my surprise the Airlines have behaved like Corporate responsibles and it's actually been the Shipping line that has 'jacked the prices sky high'. (talk about taking advantage). On last nights news  passengers had been told additional sailings were much more expensive and heaps of people have cancelled and gone to the airport instead. Fancy.

And I've just read that Jetstar and Qantaslink are infact offering discounted airfares to passengers stranded until the end of today from Melbourne to Tassie.
